改變1》三人對話
在聽力中的第1個改變就是「三人對話」。
在TOEIC對話部分中，關鍵技巧是「養成先閱讀題目的習慣」，讀完題目後，就能聚焦在題目需要我們找出的資訊。而在三人對話裡，雖然從「題目」中看不出哪個題組會是三人對話，但是「聽力播放的內容中」會清楚說明Questions xx through xx refer to the following conversation with three speakers. 當聽到with three speakers三個字，請特別提高注意力，因為等一下的聽力內容將會有三個不同的對話人物。而在應對三人對話上有什麼樣的技巧呢？
首先，對話中的每句話都在扮演「資訊補充」的功能，所以當有第三個人加入，這個人出現的目的大多會是為了提供「額外的資訊」或是「語意轉折」的角色。我們以下列的官方試題為例：
Questions 38 through 40 refer to the following conversation with three speakers.
Man 1 : Have you two taken a look at the progress they’ve made upstairs on the office expansion? It looks great!
Woman: I know! I can’t believe it! And the offices up there have amazing views of the city.
Man 2 : I wonder which division will move up there when it’s finished.
Woman: I heard it’s the research department.
Man 1: Ah, because they have the most people.
Woman: Probably. I’d love to have an office on that floor, though.
Man 2: Yeah. Well, the company must be making good money if they’re adding that space!
Man 1: I think you’re right, there!
